Terms of service
Please read these terms carefully before placing an order with us. By purchasing from Cotswold Knit, whether through our website or at an event, you are agreeing to these terms. If you have any questions, we are always happy to help, just get in touch at hello@cotswoldknit.com.
GENERAL
Throughout this website, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Cotswold Knit, the independent British knitwear brand founded and run by Anna Wheeler. Our website is cotswoldknit.co.uk.
By using this site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or are purchasing under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The version on our website at the time you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
OUR PRODUCTS
Every Cotswold Knit piece is designed by Anna in her Warwickshire studio and knitted in Leicestershire using 100% RWS-certified lambswool, spun by Todd and Duncan on the banks of Loch Leven in Scotland. Because we work with natural fibres, slight variations in colour and texture may occur between batches. These are characteristics of the material, not faults.
We make every effort to represent our products accurately, including colours and dimensions. Colours may appear slightly differently depending on your screen settings and the light you are viewing them in.
All products are subject to availability.
PRICING & PAYMENT
All prices are listed in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to update pricing at any time, but any change will not affect an order you have already placed and we have confirmed.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe using their Link checkout service. Your payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored by us. By placing an order you confirm that the payment details you provide are your own and that you are authorised to use them.
Orders will only be dispatched once payment has been received in full.
PLACING AN ORDER
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase. Your order is not confirmed until you receive an order confirmation email from us. We reserve the right to decline any order, for example if a product is unexpectedly out of stock or if there has been a pricing error on the site. If this happens, we will let you know promptly and arrange a full refund if payment has already been taken.
SHIPPING
UK orders
We offer free standard delivery on all full-price orders over £60. Orders below this threshold are subject to a delivery charge, shown clearly at checkout. We aim to dispatch orders within three to five working days. Delivery times are estimates and we cannot guarantee them, though we will always do our best.
IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
If your order does not arrive within the expected timeframe, please get in touch and we will do our best to help. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including postal or courier disruption.
RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
ONLINE ORDERS
As a consumer purchasing online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. This is your right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel, please contact us at hello@cotswoldknit.com within 14 days of delivery.
Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to return the item. Items must be returned in their original, unworn condition with any tags still attached. We are not able to accept returns on items that have been worn, washed, or damaged after delivery.
We will issue a full refund, including your original standard delivery charge, within 14 days of receiving the returned item. You are responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is faulty or not as described.
FAULTY OR INCORRECT ITEMS
If you receive something that is faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible. We will arrange a replacement or full refund, including any return postage costs, as quickly as we can. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these terms.
IN-PERSON PURCHASES
Items purchased at markets, fairs, or other in-person events are not subject to the same 14-day cancellation right as online purchases. However, if an item is faulty or not as described, we will always put it right. Please get in touch and we will find a solution.
SALE AND DISCOUNTED ITEMS
Our standard returns policy applies to sale items. Items marked as final sale or non-returnable will be clearly indicated at the point of purchase.
CARE & CRAFT
All Cotswold Knit pieces are made from natural fibres and require gentle handling. Care instructions are included with every order and are shown on each product page. A well-cared-for piece will be with you for years: holding its shape, its colour, its softness.
We recommend hand washing in cool water with a gentle wool wash, or dry cleaning. We are not responsible for damage caused by improper care.
If a piece needs attention and you are unsure how to care for it, please do get in touch. We are always happy to advise.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on this website, including our designs, photography, written content, branding, and the Cotswold Knit name, belongs to Anna Wheeler and Cotswold Knit and is protected by copyright and intellectual property law. Nothing may be copied, reproduced, or distributed without our prior written permission.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a direct and foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing within these Terms and Conditions limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.
PRIVACY
Your privacy matters to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details of how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
